The Peds Heart Center is a nationally ranked 29-bed unit, recognized by U.S. News and World Report for patient outcomes and honored with the AACN Beacon Award. As the primary referral center for all major pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina, the team cares for children with congenital and acute heart disease of any age. With an average daily census of 28, the unit manages a complex blend of cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses.
The Heart Center provides advanced care including cardiac surgery, Ventricular Assist Devices, heart transplants, cardiac catheterization, ECMO, CRRT, and pediatric palliative care. The unit operates as a monitored environment supported by a multidisciplinary team of Registered Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, Unit Secretaries, Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacists.
As a Registered Nurse II, you will provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level. Working under general supervision, you will utilize the principles of the nursing process to deliver safe and effective care, interacting closely with the broader healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
