The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and supervise individual patient care on a nursing unit. This role involves providing supervision to non-RN personnel and, when assuming the charge role, delegating and supervising unit activities. The position may require working on other nursing units based on the distribution of staff and patients.
As a specialized nurse in the Neuro ICU, you will demonstrate specific competency in the care of neuro patients, including airway management, tracheostomy care, and assistance during special neuro procedures. You will also function as a preceptor to new staff and serve as a charge nurse, ensuring the smooth operation of the department while maintaining a high level of service.
Candidates must possess a valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License and BLS certification. One year of Neonatal ICU RN experience is required. A BSN is preferred.
