3 West (Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit) at Mayo Clinic Arizona is a high-acuity team specializing in cardiovascular and thoracic patient care. The unit is staffed based on patient acuity and offers a multitude of resources available 24/7. The department is currently expanding to a newly designed space with a total of 46 beds.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. You will support professional nursing practice across practice settings and the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. The role functions within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, which includes accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients.
You will provide leadership through activities such as preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. The RN delegates patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and availability of resources. This role requires excellent communication skills, skillfulness in mentoring and teaching, and the potential to participate on committees or projects. A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle as part of the responsibility of their role.
