The Infusion Nurse in Ambulatory Oncology provides specialized chemotherapy and biologic therapies to adult patients with complex illnesses. This direct-care role focuses on the safe administration of systemic treatments, including the insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters and the management of implanted devices. Nurses in this position support patients participating in clinical trials while conducting comprehensive assessments and delivering essential patient education.
