The Vascular Access team at UVMMC is a highly skilled group of nursing professionals who provide a key clinical service to patients. We are highly valued by the staff nurses we support and partner with. Our team possesses significant depth of experience and is committed to providing quality, family-centered care to all patients and their families.
This role serves as a specialized clinical resource for vascular access across the continuum of care, from pediatric to adult patients. You will be the go-to expert for inserting peripheral intravenous catheters and PICCs, utilizing vascular visualization devices including ultrasound. Beyond direct patient care, you will consult with staff regarding vascular access devices and complications, manage clinical interventions for PICC issues (such as clearing occluded catheters and managing skin issues), and provide unit-based education. You will also actively participate in quality and process improvement projects to elevate our standard of care.
Located in Burlington, the cultural hub of Vermont, you will find all the amenities of a great small city alongside the best skiing and riding in the east, with six ski resorts within an hour of downtown. We offer a quality of life that is second to none. With exciting signing incentives and relocation assistance, moving to Vermont has never been an easier decision.
Joining our team means becoming part of a culture unlike what you'll find at other hospitals. We encourage professional growth and development, ensuring our nurses are truly happy and feel valued. We offer structured preceptorships and continuing education, and we are committed to maintaining great patient ratios. Our team culture empowers nurses to have a voice through shared governance, and we have made significant investments in safe patient handling and mobility equipment.
