As a Registered Dietitian, you will serve as a vital member of the healthcare team, reporting directly to the Nursing Home Administrator. Your primary mission is to plan, develop, and direct the Food and Nutrition Services Department, ensuring that every resident receives safe, therapeutic, and person-centered nutritional care. You will act as the bridge between medical needs and daily dining experiences, coordinating with nursing, housekeeping, and social services to uphold the highest standards of resident health and well-being.
In this role, you will assess residents to establish nourishing, palatable diets that honor individual preferences while meeting strict federal and state regulations. Your day involves managing weight trends, conducting daily rounds in kitchens and dining rooms, and ensuring that meal production aligns with therapeutic orders and safety protocols. Beyond clinical duties, you will lead quality assurance initiatives, develop staff education programs, and maintain comprehensive policies to prevent deficiencies and support the facility's overall mission.
This position is primarily based indoors within the facility but may require occasional work outside for events and parties. The environment can present unique challenges, including exposure to loud noises, potential infectious diseases, and odors. Safety is paramount; you will frequently wear protective gear such as gloves and masks and must remain vigilant regarding fall hazards and equipment safety. The role requires significant physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in English with a diverse population of residents, families, and staff.
Candidates must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English. To proceed, applicants must pass a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse and possess a current, unencumbered certification to practice as a Certified Dietary Manager in the state. A post-offer physical exam and verification of meeting all local health regulations are required. We seek individuals who can maintain regular attendance, follow instructions, and represent the facility with a professional, respectful, and friendly demeanor.
We are committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our residents and employees. The employer reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position with or without notice to ensure the continued safety and operational success of the facility.
