CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors, and partners working together to build an inclusive New York City. We ensure that all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. Through a comprehensive approach, we offer more than 180 integrated programs in Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services.
We reach almost 80,000 individuals and families, including nearly 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross-section of New Yorkers, from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe, and over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.
As the Receptionist/Office Manager for our Short Term Housing Program (STHP), you will serve as the vital first point of contact for our community. The STHP provides 35 units of congregate and transitional housing to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) who are homeless or at serious risk of homelessness. This role supports a model of care that addresses the interrelated problems of HIV and homelessness, helping clients develop the skills to find and maintain permanent, stable housing.
You will manage the front desk at our congregate facility located at 27 Winthrop Street, welcoming new clients, connecting them with appropriate staff, and ensuring the professional appearance of the reception area. Your presence helps maintain a supportive environment where 7 clients reside in the congregate facility and 28 others live in community apartments. You will coordinate with vendors and the purchasing department to ensure the facility is fully stocked and ready to receive new residents, while also managing the scheduling of Residential Aides and Security Guards to maintain 24-hour coverage.
At CAMBA, we are dedicated to serving a diverse population with dignity and respect. We believe in the power of community to transform lives and are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and supported.
Qualified candidates should submit their application through our standard hiring portal. We review applications on a rolling basis and encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
