Under the direction of the Real Estate Operations Manager, the Real Estate Underwriter plays a critical role in supporting the loan process and ensuring loan quality control. This position focuses on thoroughly reviewing and making decisions on Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) loans upon initial application and prior to closing. The role is essential for maintaining real estate portfolio integrity through the auditing and re-underwriting of mortgage, home equity, and HELOC loans.
You will work collaboratively with processing personnel, third-party partners, and Texas Mortgage Lending (TML) staff to facilitate loan quality control audits. The day-to-day involves objectively evaluating borrower information and supporting documentation to determine if loan conditions meet applicable guidelines, rules, and regulations. You will ensure files are complete and accurate before moving loans to closing personnel, while also analyzing high-risk requests and making recommendations to management. This role requires maintaining open communication to ensure loan conditions are clear and preparing reports as needed.
We take hiring very seriously. The interview process at UHCU may include phone interviews as well as first and second-round interviews. We aim to run a thorough process for candidates identified as a potential fit. Please note that we are unable to follow up with every applicant, but we will contact you if you are selected to move forward in the process.
