U.S. Farmers & Ranchers in Action (USFRA) promotes sustainable agriculture by bringing together farmers, ranchers, and the agriculture value chain to collectively identify and tackle critical, long-term issues. We collaborate, communicate, educate, advocate, and utilize science to advance the position of U.S. farmers and ranchers in domestic and international markets. Our members include farmer and rancher organizations representing 700,000 farmers and companies throughout the agriculture value chain.
The Accounting Manager serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and Fractional CFO, ensuring the organization's financial integrity supports its mission. This part-time role (20 hours/week) is responsible for maintaining and updating accounting policies, practices, budgets, forecasts, and fiscal data. The position requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing the full spectrum of day-to-day accounting operations, from general ledger and payroll to accounts payable and receivable.
You will prepare monthly financial reports and board packets, manage cash flow forecasts, and coordinate with program heads to review forecasts against actuals. Beyond routine processing, you will provide ad hoc financial and business analysis, assist with annual audits and tax preparation, and handle specialized tasks such as grant contract maintenance and PPP loan applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a remote environment and is passionate about advancing the agricultural sector.
This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States. While the workload varies from week to week, the role requires a commitment of approximately 80-90 hours per month. Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or events.
