The Real Estate Manager in South Bend, Indiana, serves as the strategic driver for Lamar Advertising's local portfolio. This role exists to profitably secure, maintain, and grow the company's real estate holdings of leased and owned properties. You will be the primary architect behind the purchase and procurement of real estate, enabling Lamar to expand its advertising footprint and drive business growth.
Your work blends high-level market analysis with hands-on negotiation. You will use independent judgment and research to determine which assets to add to the portfolio, monitoring competitor activity and zoning laws to identify growth opportunities. A significant portion of your time will be spent building and maintaining productive relationships with landowners, acting as the lead point of contact for negotiations and conflict resolution.
Beyond acquisition, you will manage the operational lifecycle of the portfolio. This includes tracking lease agreements, auditing data for accurate accounting, and coordinating due diligence for land purchases. You will also serve as the liaison between internal departments and landowners to ensure continued access to sign sites and resolve maintenance issues. Additionally, you will navigate government relations, securing necessary permits, variances, and approvals from local officials to keep the portfolio compliant and operational.
