As a Railroad Flagger, you will be the critical link in keeping workers safe on active train tracks. This role involves controlling train movements and strictly enforcing federal safety rules to support a diverse range of clients, from Class 1 railroads to smaller regional lines and contractors. You will serve as the on-site authority, coordinating activities, leading safety briefings, and ensuring all personnel adhere to complex railroad, state, and federal regulations.
This is a dynamic field position designed for those who thrive in high-stakes environments. You will spend significant time traveling (50% - 85% on average), often for extended periods, working in varied weather conditions and noisy, dusty environments. Your day will involve communicating clearly with dispatchers, train crews, and contractors, while utilizing digital tools like Android tablets to manage daily reports and track compliance.
Candidates selected for this position must successfully pass pre-employment and recurrent background checks, as well as drug and alcohol testing. All new hires are required to complete mandatory classroom training before beginning field duties.
