Our Safety Commitment

Safety is a core value at NRSS. We operate on the principle that no job is so urgent that it cannot be done safely. Our mission is to ensure the protection of workers, customers, and communities while maintaining leadership in railroad safety.

About the Role

As a Railroad Flagger, you will serve as a critical guardian of safety on active train tracks. This role exists to control train movements and ensure strict adherence to federal safety rules, protecting both the workforce and the public. You will support a diverse range of clients, from Class 1 railroads to state DOT divisions, by coordinating activities at job sites and leading safety briefings.

You will work in a dynamic environment, navigating extreme weather, dusty and noisy conditions, and uneven terrain. Success in this role demands high organization, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with dispatchers, train crews, and contractors to enforce all railroad, state, and federal regulations.

Hiring Process

Candidates selected for this position must successfully pass pre-employment and recurrent background checks, as well as drug and alcohol testing. All new hires are required to complete mandatory classroom training before beginning field duties.

Equal Opportunity

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background.
