Loyola University Chicago's Department of Radiation Oncology is an internationally recognized academic medical center dedicated to patient-centered care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and innovation. We are home to a dynamic team comprising 6 faculty physicists, 4 clinical physicists, 1 physicist-scientist, 6 dosimetrists, 3 medical physics residents, and dedicated technical support. Our facility boasts cutting-edge technology, including three Varian TrueBeams, a Varian Edge, a Varian Ethos, three CT simulators, and comprehensive services ranging from SRS and SBRT to Online Adaptive RT and hyperthermia.
We are also launching a newly created Master's in Medical Physics program through Loyola University Chicago, further cementing our commitment to academic excellence and the next generation of physicists.
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as Chief of the Division of Medical Physics. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of cancer treatment at Loyola Medicine. In this role, you will set the strategic direction for physics operations, aligning with departmental and institutional goals while serving as a key advisor on technology, capital planning, and clinical program development.
Your day-to-day impact will involve driving clinical excellence through rigorous quality assurance, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. You will oversee all physics operations, including treatment planning, machine commissioning, calibration, and radiation safety. Beyond operations, you will lead the evolution of new technologies, automation, and adaptive therapy workflows. As a leader, you will foster a culture of academic growth through faculty development, resident training, and mentorship, while also supporting department teaching activities.
Additionally, you will advance our research mission by securing funding, fostering collaborations, and translating discoveries into clinical innovation. You will represent Loyola Medicine on national and international stages through publications and professional leadership. Exceptional candidates will be considered for the Bahman Emami Endowed Professorship to support academic and laboratory pursuits.
