We are seeking a Radiation Physicist to lead the safe and accurate delivery of therapeutic ionizing radiation. In this role, you will collaborate closely with radiation oncologists and clinical staff to uphold the highest standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. You will serve as a key partner in monitoring clinical quality indicators, ensuring that appropriate treatment guidelines are not only utilized but actively developed and refined.
Your day-to-day impact involves overseeing the technical aspects of dosimetry and therapy activities, ensuring that all therapeutic equipment, including accelerators and brachytherapy units, functions smoothly and safely. You will play a pivotal role in the commissioning and calibration of new equipment, the evaluation of treatment planning software, and the direct support of patient treatments, including High Dose Rate procedures and IOeRT.
Beyond technical execution, you will be instrumental in shaping the culture of our department by providing radiological physics expertise across radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging, and health physics. You will also mentor junior staff and participate in the clinical instruction of newly hired radiation staff and students, fostering a culture of safety and continuous learning.
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $80.00 - $120.00. We are committed to supporting your transition and growth with a $25,000 sign-on bonus. Additionally, eligible candidates may receive relocation assistance and stipend payments of up to $20,000 while in residency. We are also open to considering possible remote work arrangements where applicable.

Doctor's degree in Medical Physics or Physics related discipline. 3-5 years experience in a clinical setting. Eligible to be an Authorized Medical Physicist by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services. Certification by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent in therapeutic Medical Physics.
