As a Radiology Technologist at our Level II trauma hospital in Rapid City, SD, you will serve as a critical partner to Radiologists, independently acquiring high-quality exams for interpretation. This role is designed for a versatile professional who can adapt to diverse patient needs, ranging from pediatric and geriatric populations to those in critical acute care settings.
Your day-to-day involves operating all radiological equipment, including performing fluoroscopy exams, utilizing c-arms in the operating room, and conducting portable exams throughout the hospital. You will interact with a wide spectrum of patients, including outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department cases, adjusting techniques and positions to ensure optimal results. Beyond technical imaging, you will be responsible for patient education on exam preparation, managing Radiology Information Systems, and ensuring accurate billing and documentation.
As part of our teaching organization, you will also contribute to the learning environment by mentoring students completing clinical rotations and assisting with the continuing technical education of imaging staff and physicians. You may share on-call duties and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as directed by the department leader.
