Quality Assurance Technician

About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will bring your passion for food safety to the front lines of manufacturing. Located on-site at our Rome, GA plant, you will serve as the go-to resource for ensuring the quality and safety of our core products. This role is designed to support operations by ensuring strict alignment with all policies and practices outlined in the Kellanova Food Safety Plan.

You will join a highly engaged team that fosters an environment of learning and growth. This position offers exciting opportunities to work on stretch projects, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate directly with leadership. The role requires flexibility with overtime as needed and operates on a night shift schedule (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM), alternating between 4 days one week and 3 days the following, with every other weekend off.

A Taste of What You'll Be Doing

In this position, you will provide on-shift guidance and support for all aspects of quality and food safety. Your day-to-day will involve validating Certificates of Analysis for incoming raw materials, responding to food safety events, and verifying Critical Control Points (CCP). You will execute the environmental monitoring program and inspect all processes prior to start-up.

You will also conduct plant food safety and security audits, continually scanning for hazards or opportunities to improve the plant and process. This includes daily product evaluation and employee training on food safety, HACCP, GMPs, and SOPs. You will communicate deficiencies and drive necessary follow-ups.

Additionally, you will support plant projects, including the introduction of new equipment and products. As an Internal Auditor, you will lead continuous improvement projects and take ownership of critical pre-requisite programs. You will manage and communicate product holds to front-line leaders, test and disposition holds based on results, and develop and maintain required quality food safety documentation.
