As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will engage your passion for food safety to provide front-line support to manufacturing at our Rome, GA plant. You will act as the go-to resource for ensuring the quality and food safety of our core products, supporting operations to ensure alignment with all policies and practices in the Kellanova Food Safety Plan.
You will join a highly engaged team that supports an environment of learning and growth. This role offers exciting opportunities to work on stretch projects, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with leadership. The position is a night shift role (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM) with a rotating schedule of 4 days one week and 3 days the following week, providing every other weekend off. Flexibility with overtime as needed is required.
In this position, you will provide on-shift guidance and support for all aspects of quality and food safety. Your day-to-day involves validating Certificates of Analysis for incoming raw materials, responding to food safety events, and verifying Critical Control Points. You will execute the environmental monitoring program and inspect all processes prior to start-up.
You will also conduct plant food safety and security audits, continually looking for hazards or opportunities to improve the plant and process. This includes daily product evaluation and employee training on food safety, HACCP, GMPs, and SOPs. You will communicate deficiencies and drive follow-up to ensure compliance.
Additionally, you will support plant projects, including new equipment and new products. You will lead continuous improvement projects and take ownership of critical pre-requisite programs as an Internal Auditor. Managing and communicating product holds to front-line leaders, testing and disposing of holds based on results, and maintaining required quality food safety documentation are also key parts of your responsibilities.
