About the Role

The Sr. Process Project Engineer (SrPE) serves as a pivotal technical leader within the Systems Group, bridging the gap between complex chemical process design and successful project execution. This role exists to ensure that every custom-designed system meets rigorous engineering standards while delivering on schedule and within budget.

In this position, you will drive the end-to-end engineering lifecycle. You will define project requirements, develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and size critical equipment such as heat exchangers, reactors, and pumps. Beyond design, you will manage the procurement of components, guide CAD teams in creating detailed 3D models and layouts, and oversee the construction of modular systems at vendor facilities.

Your day-to-day involves a blend of deep technical analysis and strategic project management. You will collaborate with customers to establish the Basis of Design, participate in hazard analyses (HAZOP), and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). For smaller projects, you will execute all engineering activities personally, while for larger initiatives, you will manage support engineers and review their work. The role requires occasional travel to customer sites and vendor workshops to provide startup support, commission systems, and ensure fabrication compliance.
