For more than a century, Kraus-Anderson has been transforming the American landscape. Founded in 1897 and privately owned and managed by the Engelsma family for over 70 years, we are consistently ranked by Engineering News Record among the top 50 general contractors in the United States. Our base of operations in Minnesota is supplemented with regional offices, extending our capabilities coast to coast.
We take a highly collaborative approach to our work. We work closely with owners, architects, and the entire planning team well before ground is broken, providing cost analyses, scheduling information, and value engineering services to ensure that our clients make informed decisions leading to a timely finish of the highest quality and the best value.
Our core purpose is building enduring relationships and strong communities. We are guided by our values of Integrity, Commitment, Teamwork, and a deep commitment to Value People—supporting each other in a safe, positive environment where contributions are recognized and appreciated.
The Sustainability Assessment Specialist will support Kraus-Anderson's efforts in providing energy audit reports, sustainability assessments, and facility condition reports. This role is vital for supporting the department's efforts in project planning, project accounting, business development, and ensuring compliance with all KA quality and safety standards.
In this position, you will act as a bridge between technical facility data and strategic client planning. You will collect and analyze utility data to identify consumption trends, evaluate energy conservation measures, and integrate financial benefits into energy calculations. Your work will involve inspecting facility systems and materials, from site conditions to building infrastructure, to create detailed maintenance and energy reports that assist owners in long-term facility planning. You will also estimate costs for repairs and replacements, assist in facility master planning, and integrate sustainability findings into final Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) reports. A key part of your day will involve building and maintaining relationships with clients, reviewing deliverables, and communicating future opportunities to the Senior Sustainability Manager.
We offer a challenging, rewarding, and supportive environment where employees are positioned to make a positive impact on our business, our communities, and their own future. We believe in building leaders and offer a wide range of enrichment and professional growth opportunities through KA University. Additionally, we encourage community engagement through our KA Has Heart Volunteer Program.
Our Total Rewards package is designed to support your well-being and future, including comprehensive medical options, health and flex spending accounts, a wellness program, a fitness center at our Minneapolis headquarters, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off including parental and military leave.
