The Project Manager for Early Phase (EP) serves as the strategic bridge between Parexel and our sponsors, leading cross-functional teams to deliver tailored clinical research solutions. This position is designed for a professional who combines deep clinical research experience with agile project management skills to navigate the complexities of early-phase trials. You will be the central point of contact for sponsors, responsible for ensuring operational excellence from pre-award strategy through to project close-out.
In this role, you will drive the successful execution of clinical operations and logistical strategies, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Beyond execution, you will manage the financial health of your programs, overseeing revenue recognition, milestone payments, and compliance with ICH, GCP, and other applicable regulations. Your work will directly shape the outcome of clinical research, requiring the flexibility to make informed, independent decisions in ambiguous situations.
Your day will likely begin by reviewing project metrics and CTMS data to monitor study timelines, recruitment, and data cleaning. You will act as the primary liaison for sponsors, proactively communicating progress, risks, and solutions while leading regular meetings to ensure objectives are met. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to risk management, identifying potential roadblocks and implementing contingency plans to keep the study on track.
You will also lead internal and sponsor kick-off meetings to align teams on scope and expectations, while overseeing site selection strategies and IRB/EC approval processes. As the study progresses, you will manage audits and inspections, provide performance feedback to functional teams, and ensure administrative closeout procedures are completed with thorough documentation of lessons learned. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide oversight and training to Associate Project Managers and Project Assistants.
This is a home-based role with a preference for candidates located in California, Colorado, or Texas. The position requires the ability to lead virtual teams across different locations and cultures effectively.
