About the Role
The Project Manager for Early Phase (EP) serves as the strategic bridge between Parexel and our sponsors, leading cross-functional teams to deliver tailored clinical research solutions. This position is designed for a professional who combines deep clinical research experience with agile project management skills to drive operational excellence. You will be the central point of contact for sponsors, responsible for navigating complex project landscapes and making informed, independent decisions that ensure trials are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
In this home-based role (with a preference for candidates in California, Colorado, or Texas), you will manage the full lifecycle of EP clinical trials. From pre-award strategy and bid defense to study close-out and lessons learned, your day-to-day involves orchestrating site selection, managing financial milestones, and mitigating risks in ambiguous situations. You will lead virtual teams across different cultures and locations, ensuring that every project adheres to ICH, GCP, and all applicable regulatory requirements while fostering strong, transparent relationships with our clients.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleLead Parexel and Sponsor teams to develop tailored clinical research solutions
- check_circleManage operational excellence and execution of clinical operations and logistical strategies
- check_circleOversee financial aspects including revenue recognition, milestone payments, and invoices
- check_circlePrepare for bid defense and develop project management strategies during pre-award activities
- check_circleIdentify potential project risks and implement contingency plans throughout the study life cycle
- check_circleOversee administrative closeout procedures and ensure project documentation is archived
- check_circleProvide oversight and training to Associate PMs and Project Assistants
- check_circleLead projects to completion within budget and schedule while monitoring timelines and recruitment
- check_circleOwn sponsor relationships and serve as central point of contact for functional teams
- check_circleManage study start-up activities, site selection, and IRB/EC approval processes
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in a science-related field or equivalent work experience
- verified2 years of Project Management experience with Parexel or 3 to 5 years in related fields
- verifiedExperience as a Functional Team Leader or in coordinating clinical trials
- verifiedKnowledge of ICH-GCP and pharmaceutical industry regulations
- verifiedProficiency in MS-Office products
- verifiedPMP certification (advantage)
