The Project Engineer serves as a vital link in developing, overseeing, and administering construction projects for the Development Authority of the North Country and its municipal customers. This position is designed to support the Authority's mission by ensuring infrastructure projects are executed with precision, safety, and compliance.
The role blends office-based engineering analysis with active field presence. You will prepare technical construction specifications, interpret blueprints, and manage project budgets and schedules. A significant portion of the day involves collaborating with the public, developers, and elected officials to discuss engineering regulations and project details. You will also function as an inspector on engineering projects, conduct safety briefings with contractors, and assist with GIS and SCADA systems.
This position offers a combination of office and outdoor work environments. While the typical schedule runs Monday through Friday during normal business hours, flexibility is required to meet project needs. The role involves frequent day travel within the service area (Jefferson, Lewis, or St. Lawrence counties) and occasional overnight travel.
