Energy Northwest serves member utilities and regional public power partners by identifying, shaping, and advancing new energy development opportunities. The team focuses on early-stage opportunity development, driving market analysis, resource identification, and partnership structuring to move projects through the development pipeline toward potential investment and execution.
The Project Developer is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of new applied technology and power management projects, ranging from a few million dollars for small renewable initiatives to hundreds of millions for large conventional projects. This role involves creating resource solutions for public power utilities and implementing project plans from the early feasibility phase through construction.
You will work across internal teams, member utilities, regulators, and private partners to structure projects and secure necessary approvals. The position requires leading project teams, managing outside technical and environmental consultants, and preparing comprehensive business plans, strategic plans, and budgets. Additionally, you will negotiate term sheets, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other development agreements while coordinating with Operations and Maintenance for cost projections and transition plans.
This role is posted at multiple levels (Project Developer I and II), reflecting varying degrees of experience and responsibility. Selected candidates will be hired between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range based on qualifications, market rate, and internal equity.
Candidates are evaluated based on their educational background and progressively responsible experience in an electric public utility or equivalent environment. Offers are negotiated individually based on each candidate's specific qualifications.
