About the Role
We are seeking a highly technical, customer-focused Product Specialist / Tool Application Specialist to deliver innovative, technology-driven solutions for our clients. Based in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, you will act as the key technical liaison between customers, our regional sales teams, and our technical headquarters in Europe.
This role combines cutting-edge technical expertise, sales support, and international collaboration to ensure optimal tooling solutions. You will bridge the gap between client machining requirements and our engineering capabilities, working closely with Technical Engineering, Production, Quality, Sales, SCM, and the Technology Center to drive success.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleUnderstand customer machining requirements including technology, machine limitations, and materials
- check_circleProvide technical solutions and support to Regional Sales Managers and clients
- check_circleConduct customer visits for tool testing, troubleshooting, and presentations
- check_circleCollaborate with internal teams including Engineering, Production, Quality, and Sales
- check_circlePrepare and manage quotations for standard and special tools in line with RFQ deadlines
- check_circleMaintain accurate records of technical assistance, tool recommendations, and application history
- check_circleContribute to team knowledge sharing and technical documentation
- check_circleTravel occasionally to facilities in Europe for collaboration
Requirements
- verifiedCollege degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- verifiedStrong experience in cutting tool technology and machining processes
- verifiedExpert knowledge in metallurgy, metal alloys, and carbide
- verifiedAbility to read technical drawings and create sketches
- verifiedProficiency in MS Office
- verifiedExperience with SAP, CRM, or similar systems
