About the Role
This position is dedicated to creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. The Produce Department Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return, while simultaneously achieving sales and profit goals for the department.
You will serve as the face of the Produce department, fostering a culture of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. Your day-to-day involves monitoring all functions and duties related to the department, from managing inventory and temperature controls to leading a team of associates. You will empower your team to meet targets through effective scheduling, training, and performance appraisals, ensuring that every customer feels welcome, important, and appreciated.
As a leader, you will bridge the gap between store management and the produce floor by developing business plans, executing sales promotions, and ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws. Whether you are inspecting product freshness, resolving customer inquiries, or managing conflict in a high-paced environment, your actions will directly impact the store's success and the well-being of your team.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleTrain and develop associates on job performance and participate in the appraisal process
- check_circleReview and inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action
- check_circleDevelop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired sales results
- check_circleCreate and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management
- check_circleAssist management in preparing the store budget, expense control, and profit and loss reviews
- check_circlePlan and organize the inventory process and train associates on Computer Assisted Ordering
- check_circleReinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and inspecting equipment for maintenance needs
- check_circleInform customers of produce specials and offer product samples to help them discover new items
- check_circleSchedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs
- check_circleEnsure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are kept
Requirements
