About the Role
As a Produce Department Manager, you will serve as the steward of our fresh food offerings, ensuring the department operates as a financial asset while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is critical to the store's mission of providing customers with the freshest, most vibrant produce available.
You will lead the daily operations of the Produce Department, overseeing everything from receiving and trimming to merchandising and customer service. Your day will be a dynamic blend of hands-on preparation, team coordination, and strategic oversight. You will ensure that every apple, squash, and leafy green meets our rigorous standards for taste, appearance, and freshness before it reaches the customer.
Beyond the produce itself, you are responsible for the financial health of the department. This involves managing expenses, controlling shrinkage, and utilizing energy conservation practices to protect the store's bottom line. You will also act as a key liaison between the store management and the produce team, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and customer delight.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleAssist in training associates and coordinate activities for maximum efficiency
- check_circleRecord markups, markdowns, voids, and spoilage write-offs accurately
- check_circleReceive, code date, store, and restock products to ensure quality and rotation
Requirements

- verifiedMinimum 3 years experience in produce department operations
- verifiedAbility to calculate discounts, gross margins, markup, percentages, ratios, ad loss, shrinkage
