Customer Service Associate - Temporary

About the Role

You are the face of the store, responsible for modeling and delivering a distinctive, delightful customer experience. In this position, you will engage with customers and patients by greeting them warmly and offering assistance with products and services. Your goal is to resolve issues and answer questions to ensure every interaction leaves a positive impression.

Beyond the checkout counter, you will share customer service best practices with your team, demonstrating key interpersonal habits such as eye contact, courtesy, and proactive help. You will be expected to identify customer needs and service them until they are satisfied, embodying the core service traits of the organization.

Day in the Life

Your day involves providing courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to every guest. You will register purchases, process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges, while recommending items, trade-ups, and companion products to enhance the customer's visit.

You will maintain the store's visual appeal by keeping counters and shelves clean, well-merchandised, and organized. This includes constructing and maintaining displays, completing resets, and ensuring proper product placement, such as separating raw foods from pre-cooked items and managing stock rotation. You will also utilize store systems and equipment to assist in the photo area, offering digital passport services and promotional photo products, as well as managing web pick-up responsibilities to fulfill online orders.

Safety and compliance are central to your role. You will implement asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss and ensure strict adherence to state and local laws regarding regulated products like alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Additionally, you will assist with exterior and interior maintenance to keep the store condition clean, neat, and orderly.

Hiring Process & Application

Candidates must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) and demonstrate a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. While six months of retail experience and prior work experience with Walgreens are preferred, the focus is on your ability to learn and grow.

Training & Development Once hired, you will attend training sessions and complete Personal Performance Learning (PPL) modules assigned by your manager or corporate leadership to ensure continuous personal and professional development.
