About the Role

MS Technology, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer - Wet Chemistry to support our clients in Oak Ridge, TN. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between laboratory research and industrial-scale manufacturing. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing wet chemical processes used in advanced manufacturing and materials processing environments.

The position serves as a critical link between research and development, pilot operations, and full-scale production. Your primary mission is to translate laboratory-scale processes into safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing systems. You will work closely with process development, facility engineering, regulatory, and operations teams to ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

In this capacity, you will navigate complex chemical environments, handling hazardous materials such as low enriched uranium, nitric acid, and phenolic resin. The role demands a collaborative approach, requiring you to partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement in process efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • check_circleDesign wet chemistry processes including acid deficient urinal nitrate, gelation, and solvent recovery
  • check_circleDevelop and lead implementation of advanced manufacturing processes to meet production goals
  • check_circleCollaborate with subcontractors to design, construct, deliver, and install process equipment
  • check_circleConduct research to develop new processes and evaluate new equipment to improve efficiency
  • check_circleTranslate lab-scale processes to pilot scale and production scale processes with R&D team
  • check_circleEstablish safety procedures and controls for individuals working with dangerous chemicals
  • check_circleEnsure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and provide support for waste permitting
  • check_circleConduct tests and monitor process performance throughout production
  • check_circleTroubleshoot manufacturing problems and monitor variances from process controls
  • check_circleMaintain a master list of all equipment, chemical inputs, outputs, and waste streams
  • check_circleMentor and train junior process engineers
  • check_circleDevelop specifications for process equipment and coordinate with suppliers for critical design characteristics

Requirements
