Guidant provides best-in-class electrical safety solutions, including Arc Flash Assessments, Infrared Thermography, and Electrical Safety Training. Our mission is to help organizations meet compliance, reduce risk, and protect their people. We are not just checking boxes; we are driving a culture of safety across North America.
As an Electrical Designer I, you will create basic designs for electrical power and control systems using established engineering concepts, practices, and procedures. This role serves as a foundational support position for Senior Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers, receiving assignments directly from leadership to execute specific design tasks.
You will utilize computer-aided design (CAD) tools to develop and revise designs, details, and drawings based on experience, existing designs, sketches, and written directions. Your work involves reviewing drawings for adherence to CAD standards and ensuring technical accuracy before submission. You will also prepare as-built drawings from field-generated markups and participate in occasional trips to project sites to gather or verify existing information.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and clients while adhering to strict safety policies. You will work on concurrent projects, managing your time effectively to meet schedules while demonstrating initiative in seeking additional responsibilities.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply technical calculations and electrical design software. The team values clear communication, both written and oral, and seeks individuals who are organized, tactful, and responsive to client needs.
