BAE Systems is the U.S. subsidiary of an international defense, aerospace, and security company delivering a full range of products for air, land, and naval forces. Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) houses technology, engineering, and program teams dedicated to delivering leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. Our mission is to "Protect Those Who Protect Us®" by developing the technology of tomorrow, delivered today.
Spanning air, land, sea, and space, our employees work on the world's most advanced electronics—from detecting threats for F-35 pilots to illuminating the night for soldiers. We draw strength from our differences to innovate for the future. Our flexible work environment provides a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life, while our team culture emphasizes mentoring, driving fielding velocity, and bringing the warfighter home safely.
This position supports the Weekend Night Shift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM) within a microelectronics manufacturing cell. You will serve as a Process Engineering team member with local leadership responsibilities, coordinating with various functions to support front-line issues and drive continuous improvement activities for cost reduction.
You will specifically support our "wire and ribbon bonding" cell, utilizing automated and manual wedge bonding, ball bonding, bond pull, ball shear, plasma cleaners, and automated optical inspection equipment. A critical part of this role involves engaging with tool and fixture design engineers to improve assembly aids and interacting directly with operators to understand day-to-day problems and plan resolutions. You will also manage effective communication with suppliers to shift material problems back to their points of origin.
Empowered to make decisions that improve the overall success of the microelectronics factory, you will lead a group of 3-5 cross-functional employees, focusing on yield improvements, cost takeout, and delivery enhancements. This role requires full-time onsite presence at a BAE Systems facility to ensure consistent, in-person collaboration.
This position will be posted for at least 5 calendar days. The posting will remain active until the position is filled or a qualified pool of candidates is identified.
BAE Systems is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome all those who have big ideas and crave innovation. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, fostering a culture where you can build your career and make a big impact on a global scale.
