About the Role
As a Principal Process Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority within the global Process Engineering & Technologies (PE&T) organization, part of the Bayer Pharma Product Supply Division. Based in Berkeley, CA, with connections to our German sites, you will be accountable for the definition, development, deployment, and lifecycle support of bioprocess equipment across our global manufacturing network.
You will support multiple biologics modalities, including rFVIII, monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, and emerging platforms. This role involves independently leading complex technical projects, developing robust technical and business option spaces, and guiding stakeholders toward sound, data-driven decisions. Beyond technical execution, you will coach and mentor junior engineers to build sustainable technical capability within the organization, ensuring the delivery of bioprocess equipment technologies to Bayer's global network.

Requirements
- verifiedEngineering degree or equivalent
- verifiedChemical Engineering preferred
- verifiedProfessional registration and/or certifications as appropriate
- verifiedFirm understanding of GMP environment
- verifiedExperience with biologic modalities
- verifiedExperience with cell culture, purification and filling
- verifiedStrong English language skills
- verifiedWillingness to travel up to 25%
