Northwest Permanente (NWP) is the largest multispecialty medical group in Oregon and southwest Washington, serving over 615,000 Kaiser Permanente members. Owned and led by physicians, our organization comprises board-certified doctors across 50+ specialties, supported by 300+ administrative professionals. We operate on a model where physicians earn competitive salaries without income tied to individual service volume, fostering a collaborative environment focused on high-quality care.
We invite applications to join our Pre-Operative Medicine team in Portland, OR. This role exists to provide comprehensive outpatient medical evaluation and consultation for complex patients scheduled for surgery. You will evaluate patients with multiple co-morbid conditions, performing thorough histories and physicals, ordering and interpreting labs and imaging, and determining medical optimization prior to surgical procedures.
In this position, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, primary care physicians, and consultants to coordinate care. You will support a broad scope of patients and may assist with the multi-disciplinary Senior Surgical Care Program. The role requires flexibility to support our two clinics at the Kaiser Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers. We offer an experienced support staff and access to a physician-friendly advanced Epic EMR. For those interested, there are opportunities for leadership positions within the medical group.
To apply, please submit your application through our official channels. We look for candidates who excel in clinical and interpersonal skills, with a preference for those interested in leadership. Candidates should be Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine or a Medicine sub-specialty, with at least 5 years of experience recommended.
We are committed to providing a supportive work environment with no call duties required. Our culture emphasizes professional growth, offering paid annual education leave, an annual education allowance, and in-house CME opportunities. We provide complete professional liability coverage at no cost and 100% reimbursement for obtaining and maintaining board certification.
