About the Role

As a Part-Time Custodian, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant for our students and staff. This position is essential to the daily operations of the school, ensuring that learning environments remain conducive to success. You will work a part-time schedule from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, focusing on the upkeep of assigned areas to prescribed standards.

Your day will involve a variety of tasks including sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors and surfaces. You will wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment, empty trash receptacles, and perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs. Additionally, you will inspect fire equipment, maintain inspection records, and secure the facility by locking and unlocking buildings as required. You will also handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff, always following district policies and performing duties safely.

You will also share sensitive student and staff information on a need-to-know basis and work with a large cross-section of people in a professional and non-judgmental manner.

Hiring Process

Please note that a post-offer physical and drug screening test is required for this position. Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain, an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card. The district offers performance pay annually, as well as new hire experience and education credits that can increase the hourly rate, up to a maximum of 5%.
