MercyOne is seeking a dynamic, board-certified Physician with Inpatient experience for a newly opened but established role as a Physician Advisor. The ideal candidate will have served on hospital committees or possess a strong working knowledge of CMS and commercial insurance regulations. This role requires a team-building mindset and a collaborative approach to decision-making.
In this position, you will lead a physician-driven clinical resource utilization program and work with MercyOne Leadership to design interventions when necessary. You will review cases to determine the appropriate level of care based on medical necessity, applying regulatory, health plan, and clinical guidelines to the review of denials. Additionally, you will serve as a key resource for physicians regarding medical necessity, level of care, and clinical documentation, while fostering effective communication between care team members and establishing peer-to-peer protocols.
