We are seeking a dynamic, board-certified Physician with Inpatient experience to join a newly opened but established role as a Physician Advisor. This position is designed for a collaborative leader who possesses a team-building mindset and a strong working knowledge of CMS and commercial insurance regulations. You will serve as a vital resource for physicians regarding medical necessity, level of care, and clinical documentation, fostering effective communication between all members of the care team.
In this role, you will lead a physician-driven clinical resource utilization program and work closely with the MercyOne Leadership team to design necessary interventions. Your day-to-day will involve reviewing cases to determine the appropriate level of care based on medical necessity, applying regulatory and clinical guidelines to the review of denials, and establishing and maintaining peer-to-peer protocols.
