About the Role
This position serves as a vital support within the Rehab Services department at SRMC, assisting Physical Therapists in delivering comprehensive care to patients across the entire lifespan, from neonates to geriatric populations. The role is designed to ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies while actively contributing to patient safety and the delivery of corrective exercise and treatment programs.
Team Context
Working within the Clinical Care department, you will be part of a team dedicated to the Patient Centered Medical Home model. Your daily activities involve collaborating with licensed Physical Therapists to perform evaluations, assist with complex procedures, and instruct patients on the proper use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, and braces. The environment requires a proactive approach to safety, encouraging open communication regarding potential risks and medical errors to continuously improve care quality.
Compensation & Benefits
This full-time position offers competitive shift differentials: 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend days. Additionally, a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available for qualified candidates. Compensation is determined by factors including experience, education, and organizational needs.
Application Instructions
Candidates must possess an Associate Degree in a related discipline and be eligible for a New Mexico Physical Therapy Assistant license within three months. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply. Please note that tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and as required thereafter.
