As an Outpatient Phlebotomist, you will be the vital link between patients and diagnostic care, processing blood draws with a focus on patient safety, high-quality customer satisfaction, and positive communication. You will conduct laboratory tests that provide essential information to physicians for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases.
Your day will involve interacting professionally with laboratory management, physicians, and patients to ensure optimal care. You will perform phlebotomy at outpatient draw stations, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and healthcare clinics, serving patients of all ages from infants to adults. The role requires precision in identifying patients, labeling specimens with two unique identifiers, and processing orders using systems like Meditech, Quest 360, and Lab Corp. You will also drive lab courier vehicles to off-site locations as needed and may be responsible for training new employees and students.
