As an Outpatient Phlebotomist, you will be the vital link between patients and diagnostic medicine, processing blood draws and laboratory tests that provide physicians with critical information for diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. This role is designed for individuals who thrive on high-level customer satisfaction and positive communication with patients, hospital staff, and colleagues.
Your day will involve conducting phlebotomy procedures at outpatient draw stations, nursing homes, assisted living centers, and healthcare clinics, serving a diverse population from infants to adults. You will interact professionally with laboratory management, physicians, and patients to ensure optimal care, while maintaining a safe environment by adhering to OSHA and TOSHA safety regulations. The role requires precision in identifying patients, labeling specimens with two unique identifiers, and utilizing computer systems like Meditech and Quest 360 to process orders and specimens. You may also be called upon to drive lab courier vehicles to off-site locations, perform special procedures like therapeutic phlebotomy, and assist in training new employees and students.
Williamson Health seeks candidates who embody our values of respect and compassion. While specific interview steps are not detailed in this posting, we look for individuals with strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and a positive attitude when handling complex situations. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their knowledge of medical laboratory science and their ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
To apply, please ensure you meet the essential requirements, including a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy training or experience, and a valid Tennessee driver's license for off-site collections. We invite you to bring your talents to a system where your skillset will be valued and expanded.
