At Carle Health, we are committed to fostering a workplace where every team member feels valued, respected, and empowered. Our nearly 17,000 team members and providers work together to support patient care across central and southeastern Illinois. We operate eight award-winning hospitals and a multispecialty provider group with more than 1,500 doctors and advanced practice providers. Our institutions, including Carle Foundation Hospital and Carle Health Proctor Hospital, hold Magnet designations, the nation's highest honor for nursing care.
Join our team as an AMS Pharmacy Technician and play a vital role in patient care. In this position, you will work under the direct supervision of the AMS Pharmacist to provide essential administrative and non-clinical support. Your work directly ensures the smooth operation of our Anticoagulation Management Services (AMS) program and helps maintain high-quality care for our patients.
You will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, managing phone lines to answer inquiries and route concerns to the pharmacist. A significant part of your day involves outreach, such as completing INR reminder calls and notifying patients of normal results. You will gather non-clinical patient data, accurately enter prescription refill requests, and book patient INR appointments. Additionally, you will coordinate with outside medical facilities to retrieve missing lab results and maintain up-to-date patient electronic profiles. When patient responses or data require clinical judgment, you will immediately alert the AMS Pharmacist for intervention.
