About the Role
As a Pharmacy Operations Manager at Walgreens, you will serve as a pivotal leader within our pharmacy team, ensuring efficient non-clinical operations and a positive patient experience. In this full-time role, you will act as a certified pharmacy technician while supervising pharmacy technicians and cashiers, bridging the gap between clinical care and operational excellence.
Your day-to-day involves managing the core pharmacy workflow, from prescription data entry and medication preparation to overseeing inventory and ensuring the pharmacy remains clean, orderly, and fully stocked. You will exercise independent judgment to delegate tasks, coordinate daily schedules, and drive the adoption of new technologies and processes. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will also assist in healthcare service offerings, including administering vaccines and health screenings, while ensuring strict adherence to state and federal laws and company policies regarding Good Faith Dispensing.
Beyond operations, you are the face of our customer service. You will engage patients by greeting them, resolving complaints, and anticipating needs to enhance their healthcare journey. You will also manage community outreach efforts, coordinating off-site immunization clinics and building relationships with retail partners to expand our reach.
People & Performance Management
A significant portion of this role is dedicated to developing your team. You will lead the selection, hiring, onboarding, and training of pharmacy technicians. This includes conducting performance management, coaching team members, and making decisions regarding discipline or termination when necessary. You will identify knowledge gaps within the team and facilitate hands-on training or learning modules to ensure everyone remains compliant with regulatory requirements and company standards.
