This position serves as the vital bridge between our pharmacy operations and the community, ensuring a distinctive and delightful customer experience while supporting the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision. You will be responsible for registering sales, processing prescriptions, and assisting patients with their healthcare needs in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Your day begins by engaging with customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience. You will model customer service best practices, sharing interpersonal habits like proactive help and courteous interactions with the entire team.
In the pharmacy, you will utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow. This includes filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying accuracy, and checking for possible interactions. You will also handle telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention, process manual claims for third-party programs, and assist with inventory management activities such as ordering and storing shipments.
Beyond the pharmacy counter, you will maintain a clean and well-merchandised store environment. This involves constructing displays, managing stock rotation, and ensuring compliance with laws regarding regulated products like tobacco and alcohol. You will also provide customer service in the photo area and assume web pick-up responsibilities, monitoring orders and delivering them to customers as they arrive.
Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. The role requires earning and maintaining PTCB certification through the designated training program and completing continuing education credits to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.
