About the Role
As a Pharmacy Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you are the face of our pharmacy and the first point of contact for our customers. Your mission is to model and deliver a distinctive, delightful customer experience while supporting the pharmacy team in providing safe and efficient care. You will bridge the gap between clinical pharmacy services and retail operations, ensuring every interaction leaves customers feeling valued and cared for.
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of pharmacists to assist in the practice of pharmacy, handling prescription processing, patient information management, and clerical duties. Beyond the pharmacy counter, you will engage with customers throughout the store, offering assistance with products, resolving issues, and maintaining a clean, well-merchandised environment. Your day-to-day involves a dynamic mix of customer service, inventory management, and supporting the pharmacy workflow to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.

Training & Development

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleRegister sales on assigned cash register and process voids, returns, and exchanges
- check_circleRecommend items for sale and suggest trade-up or companion products to customers
- check_circleFill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs
- check_circleReport prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies and procedures
- check_circleConstruct and maintain promotional displays and complete resets as directed
- check_circleProvide customer service in the photo area including digital passport and print services
- check_circleHandle telephone calls to physicians and process manual third-party claims
- check_circleEngage customers by greeting them and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience
- check_circleMaintain clean counters and shelves, take inventory, and check in merchandise
- check_circleAssist with inventory management activities including ordering and storing shipments
- check_circleAssume web pick-up responsibilities by monitoring and filling online orders
- check_circleAssist the pharmacist in obtaining patient information and processing prescriptions
Requirements
- verifiedMust be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
- verifiedEarn and maintain PTCB certification or state required certification/registration
Nice to Have
Six months of experience in a retail environment. Prior work experience with Walgreens. Good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately (counting, measuring, and weighing medications). Good computer skills. Knowledge of store inventory control. PTCB certification.
