This position serves as the vital link between our pharmacy operations and the community, ensuring a distinctive and delightful customer experience. You will work under the direct supervision of pharmacists to assist in the practice of pharmacy while delivering courteous, fair, and efficient service to every patient and shopper. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about healthcare and committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Your day begins by engaging with customers and patients, greeting them warmly, and offering proactive assistance with products and services. You will be responsible for resolving customer issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience, modeling best practices such as maintaining eye contact and offering help before being asked.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to operational excellence. You will register sales, process transactions, and manage inventory, ensuring counters and shelves are clean, well-merchandised, and compliant with food safety policies. In the pharmacy department, you will utilize specialized systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist pharmacists with workflow scheduling. This includes filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring medications, verifying accuracy, and checking for possible interactions. You will also handle telephone calls, process manual claims for third-party programs, and manage inventory activities such as ordering and unpacking shipments.
Additionally, you will support the store's broader operations by constructing displays, assisting with web pick-up responsibilities, and ensuring the store environment remains neat and orderly. You will also provide customer service in the photo area and assist with exterior and interior maintenance.
Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. The role requires fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). We encourage applicants to pursue PTCB certification through our designated training program or state-required certification to support their professional development.
