The Trauma Program Performance Improvement Program Manager serves as a pivotal leader within Wilmington Hospital's Level III Trauma Program. This role is dedicated to abstracting, interpreting, and presenting data to drive performance improvement and care management initiatives. The primary objective is to demonstrate excellence in health and clinical outcomes while ensuring the trauma registry consistently meets the rigorous standards of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
In this position, you will establish and monitor the quality of the trauma registry, utilizing clinical expertise and data-driven insights to guide assessments and treatment options. You will lead projects aligned with the specific needs of a Level 3 trauma center, focusing on improving clinical services, financial outcomes, and organizational performance. The role requires a deep commitment to maintaining or exceeding ACS regulatory requirements and fostering an integrated trauma performance improvement and patient safety (PIPS) program.

You will collaborate closely with trauma program leadership, clinical personnel, and other departments to facilitate process improvements and enhance trauma center performance. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to data integrity, including designing measurement tools, conducting quality audits, and ensuring the appropriate inclusion or exclusion of data based on defined dictionaries.
You will play a key role in preparing for ACS site surveys and other accrediting processes, ensuring the program remains ready for evaluation at all times. Additionally, you will contribute to the educational growth of the trauma team by providing nursing education on topics such as TNCC and ATCN, as well as insights generated through the performance improvement process.
