Children's Hospital of Michigan (CHM), a proud member of the Detroit Medical Center, is the first and largest children's hospital in the state. Since 1886, we have been dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to children and adolescents in a caring, efficient, and family-centered environment. Ranked as one of America's best pediatric hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and Parent Magazine, CHM holds an international reputation in pediatric medicine, surgery, and research, training more pediatricians than any other facility in Michigan.
We are currently expanding our Division of Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology. The Division currently comprises 8 faculty members and 2 fellows, supported by specialized staff including social workers, medical office assistants, RNs, and a Pediatric Rheumatology NP. We play a major role in teaching residents and fellows while conducting multicenter collaborative clinical research. Our facilities include the Pediatric Specialty Center, which houses the Pediatric Rheumatology clinic and a multidisciplinary vasculitis clinic, along with three additional off-site clinics throughout the Detroit metropolitan area.
We are seeking a Pediatric Rheumatologist to join our thriving program, which treats patients up to 18 years of age with autoimmune or potential autoimmune diseases. Conditions seen and treated include juvenile idiopathic arthritis, lupus, dermatomyositis, periodic fever syndromes, scleroderma, Behcet's disease, and vasculitis.
In this full-time employed role with academic responsibilities, you will join a team of two other full-time Pediatric Rheumatologists, a full-time Peds Rheum NP, and a half-time Immunologist. The position offers a flexible schedule with 80% clinical time and 20% dedicated to teaching, research, and administration. Your typical week will include four 4-hour clinic blocks and 10 days of inpatient consults per month. Call duties involve beeper coverage for Pediatric Rheumatology only, ten days per month.
The role offers significant opportunities for academic collaboration within the division, department, and multi-center settings. You will have access to an on-site infusion center for IVIG and monoclonal antibody treatments and can engage in research supported by CHM's research center located at the main hospital. Additionally, collaboration opportunities are available with the Adult Rheumatology team at DMC Harper University Hospital, and the position includes affiliation with Central Michigan University, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University School of Medicine for inter-institutional teaching and research.

Employment practices will not be influenced or affected by an applicant's or employee's race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
