Children's Hospital of Michigan, a proud member of the Detroit Medical Center, is the first and largest children's hospital in the state. Since 1886, we have been dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to children and adolescents in a caring, efficient, and family-centered environment. Ranked as one of America's best pediatric hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and Parent Magazine, our 228-bed facility holds an international reputation in pediatric medicine, surgery, and research, training more pediatricians than any other facility in Michigan.
The Division of Allergy, Asthma, Immunology and Rheumatology is a collaborative and growing academic program. We serve as a major referral center for inborn errors of immunity and act as the sole coordinating center for the State of Michigan Newborn Screening Program for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID). Our faculty and staff are deeply committed to improving care for diverse and underserved populations through multidisciplinary clinical research, fellowship education, and community engagement.
We are seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Allergist/Immunologist to join our team in a full-time, employed position with academic responsibilities. This role offers a balanced clinical schedule with 80% clinical effort and 20% protected academic time dedicated to teaching, research, quality improvement, and program development.
You will join a collaborative multidisciplinary team comprising six Allergy/Immunology faculty members, two Pediatric Rheumatologists, four fellows, specialized nursing staff, social workers, and advanced practice support. The position involves managing a broad spectrum of allergic and immunologic diseases for both pediatric and adult patients across our main clinic at the Children's Hospital of Michigan and five additional off-site clinics throughout the Detroit metropolitan area. All sites are fully equipped for subcutaneous immunotherapy, food challenges, and monoclonal antibody therapy, with an on-site infusion center supporting IVIG administration.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading 6-7 half-day clinics per week and participating in approximately 5-7 days of inpatient consult service per month. The role features shared home call responsibilities with no in-house requirements, with an average weekend inpatient consult coverage of once every 4-5 weeks. As an academic appointee with the Department of Pediatrics at Central Michigan University College of Medicine, you will have additional opportunities for inter-institutional teaching and research collaboration with Michigan State University and Wayne State University School of Medicine.
