The Pediatric Infectious Diseases team is part of the region's largest group of board-certified, fellowship-trained pediatricians and specialists. This collaborative environment includes over 65 pediatric subspecialists and supports a 12-bed PICU, a 24-bed pediatric unit, and a 40-bed Level III NICU. The team works closely with primary care and other subspecialties, including Allergy/Immunology, Cardiology, and Hematology/Oncology, to provide comprehensive care for a catchment area of 1.2 million people across North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Montana.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a consultative service within the region's only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. The role involves a mix of outpatient clinic work and inpatient consulting, supported by 24/7 in-house coverage from pediatric hospitalists, NICU, and PICU teams. You will serve as a key member of a small, dedicated team currently consisting of two MDs and one Nurse Practitioner, providing consultative care with call coverage approximately one week at a time.
In addition to clinical duties, this role includes a joint appointment as clinical faculty with the UND School of Medicine and Health Science. You will have the opportunity to teach medical students, family medicine residents, and pediatric residents. The position is eligible for the Pediatric Subspecialty Loan Repayment Program (PSLRP), reflecting the organization's commitment to supporting physician development in critical care areas.
