As a member of the dialysis healthcare team, you play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, you will ensure that all treatments adhere to strict organizational policies and comply with federal, state, and corporate regulations. Your primary focus is on the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
This position is integral to our commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP). You will actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, helping to enhance patient satisfaction and ensuring that patients achieve their quality enhancement goals. From the moment a patient arrives to their discharge, you will be their partner in care, evaluating their well-being, managing vascular access, and monitoring their response to therapy.
In the Transitional Care Unit, you will guide newly admitted patients through their first four weeks of dialysis. This involves coordinating care across disciplines, assisting patients in understanding home dialysis options, and supporting their transition to their chosen treatment modality. You will also help prepare patients for self-care under supervision, ensuring they feel confident and supported in their journey.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and must meet all Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state or national certification requirements within the mandated timeline. All appropriate state licensure, education, and training are required. Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility is preferred.
Continued employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the organization's dialysis training program and CPR certification. As a condition of employment, all employees are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test. Please note that failing this test does not automatically preclude employment; the company will consider reasonable accommodations where applicable.
