As a member of the dialysis health care team, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. This position is essential to ensuring that patients receive high-quality care in compliance with rigorous federal, state, and corporate regulations. You will be responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines while actively supporting the organization's commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
Your day-to-day work involves a blend of direct patient care, technical operation, and environmental stewardship. You will welcome patients, evaluate their vascular access, and initiate treatments according to prescribed orders. Beyond clinical duties, you will monitor patient responses, manage safety alarms, and ensure the treatment environment remains clean and safe. In the Transitional Care Unit, you will guide newly admitted patients through their first four weeks of dialysis, coordinating care and assisting with the transition to home dialysis modalities.
You will function within a collaborative health care team, working alongside registered nurses, physicians, and other staff to optimize patient outcomes. This role requires close coordination with various disciplines to ensure a seamless patient experience, from admission to discharge. You will also contribute to the training of direct patient care staff and participate in process improvement activities designed to enhance patient satisfaction and achieve organizational quality goals.
