As a member of the dialysis health care team, you play a vital role in delivering safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines while maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Your work directly supports the organization's commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, ensuring patients achieve their quality goals.
This position is integral to the patient journey, particularly within the Transitional Care Unit (TCU), where you will guide newly admitted patients through their first four weeks of dialysis. You will coordinate care across disciplines, assist patients in understanding home dialysis options, and help facilitate the transition to their chosen treatment modality.
Your day involves a blend of direct patient care, technical operation, and meticulous documentation. You will welcome patients, assess their well-being, and evaluate vascular access for patency before initiating treatment. Throughout the session, you will monitor patient responses, manage machine parameters, and perform necessary interventions as prescribed.
Beyond clinical duties, you will ensure environmental integrity by cleaning and disinfecting equipment between treatments and adhering to strict infection control policies. You will also participate in training direct patient care staff and contribute to process improvement activities that enhance the patient experience.
Successful candidates must meet Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the mandated timeline. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the organization's dialysis training program and CPR certification.
As a condition of employment, all candidates are required to take the Ishihara's Color Blindness test. Please note that failing this test does not automatically preclude employment; the Company will consider whether reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
